About this product

Product Information

Jeff Winston, forty-three, didn't know he was a replayer until he died and woke up twenty-five years younger in his college dorm room; he lived another life. And died again. And lived again and died again -- in a continuous twenty-five-year cycle -- each time starting from scratch at the age of eighteen to reclaim lost loves, remedy past mistakes, or make a fortune in the stock market. A novel of gripping adventure, romance, and fascinating speculation on the nature of time, Replay asks the question: "What if you could live your life over again?"

    Incredible book.

This is an amazing book about a 43 year old man who dies and re-lives most of his adult life, starting with his college days, over and over and over again. A compelling read. I have read the book three times and I enjoy almost even more with each read. Lots of neat little plot twists and turns, which I don't dare reveal here. One of my favorite books of all time.

  • REPLAY by ken grimwood

i first read this book about 20 years ago. i enjoyed it thoroughly and it made an impression on me; over the years things in my life have reminded me of story elements from the book. recently an intense group conversation reminded me of it and i resolved to find a copy and read it again. i believe i enjoyed it even more this time. "if only i had known then what i know now..." imagine the possibilities of living part of your life again, remembering everything you already know--people you loved, successes and regrets, global events, not to mention the outcome of sporting events and stock market activity. would you change the way you live your life, for money? reckless abandon? love and family? solitude? would you try to change history? how many chances would you get, and is it possible to ...

  • A very good read, you will remember it for years

Replay is one of those books that sticks with you. I am 50-something and have been reading science fiction since I was a teenager in the 1960s, and this little book is one that I have never gotten out of my head. I have read huge, giant, thick, deep books, adventures, series, you name it. This is a sweet little book that would appeal to just about anybody, even if they "don't like" science fiction or fantasy or whatever it is that you would call this. Since it takes an "alternative history" line and involves time travel, it is some sort of fantasy or science fiction, by definition. But the mechanics and processes are never addressed in any way, the character just wakes up to find himself in a different time and place. For that reason, there is no "intimidation factor" to people who ...

  • Alternate History

I read this book when it was initially published, in the ‘80s. For me, it was one of the “alternate history” type books I read (“Thrice upon a time” was the 1st I read and loved that book). I really liked the book at the time, and it was one of the catalysts that got me into the “alternate history” stories. Imagine if you were suddenly in your body in college again after dying in your 40's! You can relive everything, they way you want again, and you KNOW the future! What if you do this and then die again at the same age, date and time and then wake up in your dorm room again! And this keeps happening after you reply your life??? This is the idea of this great book!

  • Great, easy read. Makes you really think.

This book was recommended on a blog. I'm a huge "Lost" fan and the blogger suggested this book. I read up a little on it and it seemed very interesting. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. It was such an easy read, it took off the moment it started and not a dull moment all the way through. Definitely makes you think about the decisions you have made in your life and the ones you will make in the future. I have already recommended this book to a few people and have since passed on my copy to someone else. Read this book!
